The physicians and medical staff at Action PM&R are dedicated to the belief that knowledge and education are important in the rehabilitation process.  Our patients are guided through their rehabilitation, often with the help of some of the areas finest therapists.  There is no substitute for quality of innovation.  When the need for "high tech" intervention is needed, we will provide this service or make arrangements for our patients in a timely manner thereby minimizing lost time in the rehabilitation process while keeping a careful watch on the cost to the patient.

If you are an employer or an organization searching for programs to compliment your present health packages, if you are a referring physician whose patient requires special care, or if you are an individual seeking advice in regards to yourself or a family member, we are here to help.

A Commitment to Recovery and Health

"The most important part of being a physician is remembering that patients are individuals, that they have feelings and lives of their own.  Patients with injuries are at risk for recurring pain and injury.  This is why I use a complete approach that includes customized exercises to strengthen and heal, and education so patients know how to avoid re-injuring themselves in the future."

About Physician Assistants

Physician Assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice  medicine with physician supervision. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PA's conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, assist in surgery, and in virtually every state can write prescriptions. Within the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants exercises autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. A PA's practice may also include education, research, and administrative services. Physician Assistants are trained in intensive medical programs accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. PA's are trained in a medical model designed to complement physician training.

Educating patients

" I enjoy being a part of our patient's treatment and recovery teaming with your physician to provide excellent, individualized care. As a physician assistant I strive to be accessible to our patients to help answer any questions or concerns they may have throughout their treatment. Patient education is an important component of treatment and I work hard to make sure our patients have the knowledge to help speed their recovery."

About Nurse Practitioners

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse who has completed specific advanced nursing education (either a Master's or a Doctorate degree) and training in the diagnosis and management of common as well as complex medical conditions. Nurse Practitioners are generally licensed through nursing boards rather than medical boards as they provide advanced nursing services. In the U.S., nurse practitioners are sometimes considered "mid-level" providers similar to physician assistants (PAs), though often NPs practice independent of physician supervision. Nurse Practitioners provide a broad range of health care services.

Nurse Practitioners treat both physical and mental conditions through comprehensive history taking, physical exams, physical therapy, ordering tests and therapies for patients, within their scope of practice. NPs can serve as a patient's primary health care provider, and see patients of all ages depending on their designated scope of practice.

Attention To Detail

" I pride myself in my attention to detail and thoroughness of each of my exams. I spend time with each patient making sure I have addressed all of their concerns and properly evaluated them. This may seem like a given, but many times my patients are not receiving this personal attention from other medical facilities. This can result in missed diagnoses and decreased quality of care. This is one reason why I am so grateful to be working for Action PM & R where all of the medical staff puts patients first even if it takes a little more of their time and energy."
